Africa Re-Styled in Botswana

This is a new Africa, an increasingly prosperous continent, which has become a yardstick for defining fashion across the globe and shaking off the images of poverty, famine and war that had previously dominated the continent’s coverage. Today’s African fashion, whilst hugely diverse, is giving out a united message – African designs are not only loved but are worn to ensure a dialogue between the garment and the wearer. Botswana designers Kaone Moremong House of Kay and Neo Ooke of African Lace, are epitomising this new trend in African fashion design. Their combination of creativity, culture – both old and new – travelling in time, propels the duo to inimitable fashion heights.

But this is the Africa we have always known – the Africa that is a portal of inspiration and not a trend. The intricacy, craftsmanship and delicate detailing is indeed exquisite. This is the Africa the world should come to, the Africa the world should know. Therefore sit back and get transported and immersed in Africa’s globetrotter bold prints, exotic accents, and earthly brights that take you around the world’s most promising and diverse continent. Be immersed in the colourful stream of consciousness and creativity that perfectly captures the essence of the new Africa: vibrant, creative, cultural and yet modern.
