Great minds think alike, they say, and if the latest magazine covers are anything to go by, great minds have agreed that lavender fields are in vogue when it comes to editorial shoots. First came our October cover with the gorgeous Ajuma Nasanyana at Hitchin Lavender Fields, then came Marion Cotillard with the Winter 2015 issue of Porter Magazine, and hot on our heels comes Beyoncé for Beat magazine strutting her stuff in a lavender field.
Styled by Naomi Gray and lensed by Dami Oyetade with creative direction from our own Karishma Mehta, Ajuma showcased amazing African fashion from the likes of Bestow Elan, Korlekie and Anita Quansah on what was an overcast July day.
Marion Cotillard looks ethereal in a white Dior dress in a field on lavender photographed by Ryan McGinley for Porter.
Also lensed by Ryan McGinley in the Hamptons is Queen Bey who strikes a fierce pose for Beat, sitting in a field of lavender – miles away from the romantic feel of the Cotillard shoot, Beyoncė looks far more sporty. That’s not all though. Look a little further behind her, you will see a backdrop of purple – much like the one from our shoot with Ajuma. We did say “great minds”, didn’t we?
