It is no secret, here at NAW, our girl crush eternal is Lupita Nyong’o. From her teeny weeny Afro to her sophisticated red carpet style and of course her fierce talent, we love everything about Lupita. Kenyan actress has not only gone and bagged herself an Oscar in 2014 for her part in 12 Years a Slave, but she has also earned her theatre, currently performing in playwright and The Walking Dead star Danai Gurira’s Eclipsed, currently off-Broadway and heading to the Great White Way in February. All the while acing front covers of women’ss glossies and laying red carpets across the globe event after event, possibly one of the best dressed star of 2015.

Being a style queen doesn’t stop her from stealing the show like a pretty princess in a flirty, floating A-line Elie Saab in which she once again radiated playful elegance at the Screen Actors Guild Awards on January 25 in Los Angeles.

Just as we were wondering how she would ever outdo her famous ‘Nairobi Blue’ gown of 2014, Lupita dazzled us with this custom Calvin Klein pearl and ivory beaded gown at the 87th Annual Academy Awards in Hollywood on February 22.

And dazzle on she did as Lupita ended the night in a golden Calvin Klein dress Attending the Vanity Fair Oscar After Party on February 22.

Once again princess-like, Lupita twirled her way to the top of the style charts in jade Gucci chiffon plisse gown with a cape detail at the opening ceremony of the 68th Cannes Film Festival on May 13.

Kenya met Nigeria in June 2015, when Lupita opted for a Maki Oh skirt and blouse from the Nigerian designer Amaka Osakwe for several appearance during her homecoming tour to Kenya as part of her work for WildAid as a Global Elephant Ambassador.
