Lagos Fashion and Design Week  which hold annually was Founded in 2011 by Omoyemi Akerele, Executive Director and founder of Style House, a fashion business development agency which provides a platform for buyers, media and fashion enthusiasts to view collections from leading designers from Nigeria and across Africa. LFDW has also expanded its scope of works, providing advocacy for the industry with government and investors, offering industry master-classes and incubation support for emerging talent and supporting all parts of the fashion industry value-chain to achieve their full potential.

This year’s shows (25-28 October)  are taking place at Eko Atlantic in Lagos. here are some highlights  so far.

reGina Jane

reGina Jane Jere is a Zambian-born London-based journalist and founding Editor of the New African Woman magazine the sister-publication of the New African magazine of which she was the Deputy Editor for over a decade. The mother of two juggles a wide-range of editorial and managerial duties, but she has particular passion on women’s health, education, rights and empowerment. She is also a former Zambian correspondent for Agence France Presse, and a former Africa Researcher at Index on Censorship. She writes extensively on a wide range of issues, from politics to women’s rights, media and free speech to beauty and fashion
