Vlisco’s ‘New Traditions’ – for women of all ages and styles

The new Vlisco campaign which was shot in Benin  is out! Dubbed New Tradition, both the Lookbook and the accompanying video, celebrates  “thriving women, capturing their  radiance in the fascinating tradition of aso ebi.” the popular 170-years old Ducth African print makers  said in a statement.

For this campaign Vlisco brought together women from all ages and different walks of life, with different stories, to create what the textile company describes as “new memories [of them] wearing both classic fabrics and modern styles with a touch of nostalgia.”

The participating women were asked to co-design their looks according to their own personalities, desires and fashion dreams.

“These women are making a statement to the world – “I am because we are”. The new and classic prints honour both the unity of each individual and the group,” says Vlisco.

The designers who created the looks include
Style Temple, Grace Wallace, Pepita D, Casterman, Esperancia Mode, Fathma, Ideal Mode Couture, Elisha Couture, Rafiou A, with Jewellery by
Chyba Jewellery.
