Founded in 2009, The New African Woman is published by &HER MEDIA GROUP – an all-female publishing and communications company – which took over the popular title from IC Publications, its former publishers of 10 years. It is still edited by its founding Editor reGina Jane Jere – a renowned Zambian, London-based journalist.
Since 2009, the NAW has interviewed and featured some of the world’s and Africa’s most influential African women in diverse fields ranging from politics, public service, the creative and entertainment industries. civil society and sport. To mention a few, they include Amina J Mohammed ( the United Nations Deputy Secretary-General), the inimitable Chimamanda Ngozi Adichie, renowned actresses including Hollywood’s Thandie Newton, Lupita Nyong’o, Danai Gurira; Teyonah Parris Film Director Amma Asante, Nollywood’s Genevieve Nanji, Omotola Jalade Ekeinde; popular singer and activist Angelique Kidjo, South Africa’s Lira and Simphiwe Dana and many more.
Print Editions have been distributed across English-speaking countries in Africa, the US, Europe and the Caribbean. Post Covid-19, print versions are currently limited to subscription only, as we move more towards Digital Editions.
