| Dr Olga Laiza Kupika, Zimbabwe Associate Professor, Chinhoyi University of Technology |
Dr Kupika’s study explored the impact of climate change on riparian-based ecosystems and livelihoods dependent on two river systems, the Ronde and Save River in southeastern Lowveld, Zimbabwe. Her research adopted a case study approaches whereby two study communities located along the rivers basins in drought-prone Chiredzi and Mwenezi Districts were selected to collect data using smart –mobile phones. Dr Kupika’s findings are now being incorporated to enhance the region’s early warning systems. In this video, she explains more about her work.
